- Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent – Bank 1 Sensor 1. CHECKED OVER WIRING AND SENSOR AND FOUND THAT THE MOUNTING BOLT FOR THE CAM SENSOR TO BE LOOSE. REINSTALLED BOLT PROPERLY SO SENSOR WAS HELD IN PLACE. TESTED OPERATION AND FOUND SENSOR TO BE READING ERRATIC. INSTALLED OEM SENSOR AND TESTED. FOUND SIGNAL GOOD NOW. TEST DROVE AND FOUND CODE TO RETURN. FOUND ISSUE TO OCCUR WHEN CAMSHAFT IS ATTEMPTING TO PHASE. NEED TO REMOVE SENSOR AND EXAMINE TONE RING ON CAMSHAFT PHASER. EXAMINED THE PHASER AND NOTICED NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE. FOUND WHEN RUNNING AT 2000 RPM THE PHASER IS SHAKING AND RATTLING. NEED TO REPLACE CAM PHASER.

NEED TO DISCUSS WITH CUSTOMER ON POSSIBLY REPLACING TIMING BELT AND TENSIONER WHEN REPLACING WATER PUMP DUE TO REMOVING TIMING BELT FOR WATER PUMP REPLACEMENT.
